SQL Server DROP / DELETE Database using Query or Management Studio

To drop or delete SQL database we have two different methods one is using Query with “DROP DATABASE” and another one is directly using SQL Server Management Studio

Using Query to DROP / DELETE SQL Database

By using “DROP Database” statement we can drop or delete SQL database. Generally to drop database in SQL our syntax will be like as shown below

Following statement is the syntax to drop or delete sql database 

 

DROP DATABASE databasename

 Here databasename is the name of database to drop or delete from SQL Server

Example to DROP / DELETE SQL Database

The following SQL statements will drop or delete database “sqltutorialexamples

Refresh your database section and check whether your database deleted from your list or not

To delete database from SQL Server open SQL Server Management Studio --> Select your database in Databases section --> Right click and select DELETE Option like as shown below
